We all know the importance of a healthy skin if you want to look great. So how do you achieve this? Well here are my top 10 skin care tips:

# Check your skin type. Because there are different products for each skin type, it is important that you use the correct one.

# Keep your body hydrated. This means drinking plenty of water every day. Follow this simple tip and your skin will show a definite improvement.

# Cleanse your skin regularly. Wash twice a day in lukewarm water to remove all dust and dirt that may have accumulated during the day.

# Take care. Avoid excessive scrubbing and try not to exfoliate too hard. Also take care not to overdo the creams and lotions.

# Make sure your skin is always moist. Do not let your skin become dry because dryness causes the outer layer of your skin to break, leading to a rough and unattractive appearance. Use a moisturizer daily.

# Avoid the sun. # Keep away from strong sunlight. Avoid the sun between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. This is when the harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays are strongest.

# Sunscreen is essential. Make sure you use a product with the correct sun protection factor (SPF). Best advice is to use a sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or higher. Also choose products that offer broad spectrum protection and are water resistant.

# Dress to protect your skin. Wear a hat with a brim wide enough to shade your neck as well as your head. Also choose lightweight shirts with long sleeves and long pants to protect you from the sun.

# Avoid artificial tanning. Tanning beds and sun lamps act on your skin in the same way as the sun with its harmful UV rays, so should be avoided. Tanning pills may appear to be harmless, but contain an additive that has not been approved by the FDA. Tanning makeup does not contain sunscreen so will provide no protection.

# Make regular checks of your skin. Because excessive exposure to the sun can

cause skin cancer, you need to be aware of any changes in

birthmarks, moles or spots. If you notice any alteration in size, color or shape you should seek medical advice.
