Do you sincerely think God wants you to be blessed with riches? And I don’t mean to say rich in benevolent virtues – that’s already a given. I mean do you think that God wants you to be living a life of overflowing wealth and physical well-being? Well the truth of the matter is that He does. Abundance and prosperity is not a evil desire to have, it has its beginnings in the Bible. You will in fact find prosperity scriptures from the Old and New Testament books confirm this to be real.
You will observe that a lot of God’s most favored persons have in their possession not only immense wealth but also a high standing among people. Abraham was recognized to have such a large number of herds, cattle and male and female servants that he and his nephew had to separate because the land they would go to is not able to sustain both of their households. Sarah, Abraham’s wife was so stunning that she received the attention of the King of the land they were staying in – and this was her at 90 years of age! What is her secret and where can we get it, right? That, my friends, is God’s abundance in surplus.
Another story of supernatural prosperity is Joseph. We all know what happened to him, things did not go great with this special individual. Traded by his brothers, wrongly accused and sent to prison, forgotten by someone who owed him a favor – who would think he’d become the second in command of the powerful nation of Egypt? God did. Joseph was given a dream of this awesome future many many years ago and in the face of the extreme challenges that he faced, God made sure His purposes for Joseph’s life will stand. Is this your life story? Did you used to dream of a good life but the hardships that seem to come against you at every season seemed to be too much to endure? Don’t lose hope. It is God’s desire to see your dream come true.
Now you’re beginning to see it too, God does intend for His people to be blessed. But that was in the Old Testament and He was referring to the Jewish people – that has nothing in relation with me. Research the Gospels and the Epistles carefully and you will learn that the prosperity promise concerns you as well. Abraham is the known father of Faith, so all who believe are inheritors of the promise. Hence when God told Abraham in the Old Testament: ‘I will bless you and make you great; I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And through you all families of the earth shall be blessed’ (Genesis 12:2-3) – if you have faith, you can receive it.
Many people make a mistake in this because there are biblical verses that appear that being poor is a God designed state to dwell in. This cannot be factual because God draws on prosperity as an end result to those who obey and follow Him.
1 Chronicles 22:13
Then you will prosper, if you are careful to abide by the statutes and the ordinances which the LORD commanded Moses concerning Israel. Be strong and courageous, do not fear nor be dismayed.
Prosperity scriptures are managed with the wise guidance of not making money your master, and giving liberally to our needy brothers and sisters. When you consider everything, there can be no question about God’s supreme will on the subject of your personal wealth.
