Successful business coach are good at figuring out how to achieve success while managing diversity within the group. To become successful at it, leaders need to assess the talent pool available within the team. What do members find straightforward and comfortable doing?
What are each members area of interest? Which areas of the workload do members find interest in or would like to be involved with? Are there experiences with work that each person has enjoyed most? These basic questions are some of the most important probes that a leader can ask to identify the individual strengths, experience, priorities and aspirations of members in his organization.
Another method that creates a successful fusion in a diverse team environment is “management by walking around” where leaders ask employees what management support signifies to them and provide a willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of team members.
This approach provides more benefits in the long term, like customer growth, by encouraging team members to approach leaders openly with new information and specific commentary. Another approach which is deviant from Autocratic management can be considered as a method of successful leadership in business.
Servant leadership is a management concept wherein the leader becomes “servant first” because the decision to lead comes from a desire to help others rather than gain increased power. Ultimately the goal is to enhance the growth of each member of the organization and improve teamwork and personal investment.
The method of servant leadership development always asks the question “how can I help you?” The leader avoids a hierarchal concept and reinforces collaboration, trust, empathy and ethical use of his position. This has been effective in conditioning teams to operate at top performance.
Servant leadership takes into consideration the individuality and special needs of each contributor within the organization. The approach is based on the principle that leading is serving others.
