Twitter has carved itself quite a media storm in the last few months with a army of subject gurus discussing Twitter on their television shows , and business strategists telling us you can use Twitter to create hundreds of followers , the interest in Twitter is at a record peak . You almost certainly know people who are on Twitter and suppliers may have invited you to join them on Twitter . And that is what I want to discuss with you today . What are YOU doing about it for yourself?
A lot of people, actually I think most, don’t even “get” Twitter. And that’s partly because it can be many different things to almost as many people. And to some extent, they may even be all true, at least to that person.
Despite what you think of Twitter for yourself, there are opportunities you should deploy and there’s a great FREE training video about that at http://www.TrafficHug.com/twittervideo/ but whatever you do, you should be doing something. The smallest benefit will be extra chances for impressions , ideally with some way of people finding you by your keyword, or your name. Some people will just try to type your name on Twitter and see if you come up.
We have other articles on getting targeted traffic, but let’s look at something we can do in ten minutes We’ll take a more detailed look at finding fans but first let’s explore a quick and easy option.
Most people limit themselves to thinking Twitter traffic as coming from within Twitter itself . A concept most Twitter directories promote . But , the advantages of having your normal traffic follow you on Twitter are well worth having . So beneficial that we need to do something about it .
The easiest thing is to add a Twitter “badge” to your website, eCommerce store or blog . A badge is a simple graphic showing who you are on Twitter with a link direct to your Twitter identity. In the videos I mentioned , they go in to how you extend that concept , but a badge will start us off in a good direction .
WHERE CAN I CREATE MY BADGE ?
You can get your own customised Twitter badge at no cost from the following website ;
http://www.TwitterDominator.com/followme_badges.php – Free Twitter badge .
You just paste the HTML it provides in to your page .
It also works on WordPress blogs. I’ve added them on all my blogs.
The Badge is contained in its own little HTML DIV tag so should live happily almost anywhere.
If you create a table or div tag to position it in , then you can just paste the code in verbatim . With WYSIWYG html editors, there is usually an HTML “object” box you can place in the desired location and just place the code in to that. Adobe Dreamweaver users can just insert an AP Layer (from the insert menu) and then paste the code in to that using the HTML code view pane.
Don’t delay. Add your Twitter badge today.
