Dancing Without Dr Martens is Hazardous to Your Well Being

The most comfortable shoes I ever wore were Doc Martens. I wore a pair of black 15-eyelet lace up Doc Martens boots. A buddy and I frequented to a Nine Inch Nails concert at the Staples Center. I recall taking off one of my Doc Martens boot and using it as a way to try and get the attention of Trent Reznor, needless to say that didn’t work. Everyone was gyrating and jumping up and down. The fervor permeated the building. I’m glad I put my Doc Martens boots back on, because as the kids around me got more excited, and jumped up more and more, this big guy landed on my foot. But since I was wearing my Doc Martens boots I didn’t feel a thing. My friend was not so happy, she was wearing flip flips and some of her toenail came off in all the ruckus.

I whispered her whenever you go to a concert with many of people it’s best to wear boots, preferably Doc Martens because they are really durable. Since the Nine Inch Nails concert I’ve seen Tool, 311, The Pixies and a Nirvana Tribute band, and each time I’ve put on those black Doc Martens and my feet are still intact. I tell anyone, especially petite girls, going to a rock concert to wear boots, and not super soft boots – hardcore, rugged durable boots, like Doc Martens. Even one Doc Marten Boot is worth more than 10 flip flops when a 220 lbs boy hyped up on testosterone decides to start a mosh pit on your foot.
