Everybody needs to be informed with what is going on in the world all around us and at time to time go out and check out the various news and reviews information portals, website and publications that are out there full of quality news and comment to help us make informed decisions.

Because we live in a world that is becoming more and more based on the internet we see that people look to news articles online from which to sample their day to day information. It is largely because of the technologically advanced world that has been developed over the years that we can know of the very latest news and politics as well as business management affairs that are happening no matter the events are in the world.

The use of a politics news blog is something that we have seen become even more popular in recent years as people become increasingly keen to share their news with whoever is willing to listen. In years gone by this would have meant sharing only with people who are in their local vicinity but now we can know what happens within the furthest corners of the globe as for sure we are living in a borderless world. The thing that pins our world together is in fact news and information – when we think about it all of our conversations and the business operations that take place throughout the world is based purely upon news, information and the source that we get it from.

Top 3 Pregnancy iPhone Apps

Blog | Posted by Burt
May 26 2009

Pregnancy is a beautiful experience.

It literally engulfs your life and becomes YOU.

So, if you have an iPhone or iPod touch, of course you will want add a few pregnancy apps to your collection.

For instance…

You might be on your way to a pregnancy massage and have a baby name idea… there is an app for that, you know.

Your girlfriends may call you about a baby shower gift… is there an app for that?

You may want to chat with other mommies-to-be in a organic pregnancy forum… you can make an app for that!

iPhone Apps for Mommies-To-Be

App #1Best Pregnancy Calendar

My choice is iPregnancy from Dr. Gregory P. Moore. It will help you keep track of your pregnancy right along with your doctor!

Once your due date is established and entered, the program will keep track of your current progress in pregnancy including your:

  • Current gestational age in weeks and days (like doctors use)
  • Current gestational age in lunar months
  • Progress bar that will show you how far you have progressed
  • Current Trimester Time remaining until your due date (in weeks and days)
  • And more…

App #2Best Baby Game App

I really like playing with the app called Babyface. It is a “baby appearance predictor”. Meaning, it creates a full color graphic of what your baby may look like :) .

Now, this is for fun so don’t be surprised if it isn’t accurate. The app has an amazingly scientific explanation behind the technology which is supposed to generate the babyface… despite that mumbojumbo, it is a lot of fun.

App #3 – Best Baby Naming App

NameShake is an app I really love. It has over 19,000 names and, the coolest part, you just set a few parameters, shake your iPhone and, voila, out pops a cool baby name you never would have thought of.

My husband loves it too. We purchased quite a few baby naming books but this app is really all we needed.

Obviously, there are lots of apps on iTunes. These are just the 3 I played with the most.

I hope you like them too!

Don’t Struggle Alone – Get Debt Help

Blog | Posted by Burt
May 26 2009

Trying to repay problem debts can be a daunting task. More people than you may think face the dilemma of how they can afford all of their commitments each month – and many people are left wondering how they are ever going to get out of the situation.

That’s why debt help is so important. Seeking professional debt advice can offer guidance on how to improve your situation – whether it’s simple advice, or a more specific debt solution.

How a debt adviser can help
When you first call a debt adviser, they will discuss your situation in confidence in order to establish the best course of action for your circumstances. It may be that a few words of advice are enough to help; it may be that you simply need a bit of help with budgeting and getting your finances in order; or, if your circumstances are a little more serious, you may benefit from a more specific debt solution.

There are a number of debt solutions available to suit a range of financial circumstances – and choosing the right one could make it much easier for you to repay your debts.

Debt consolidation loan
A debt consolidation loan allows you to ‘consolidate’ several debts into one with a new loan, which can make managing your finances more simple.

You will repay your debt consolidation loan to your new lender in single monthly instalments. It’s often possible to reduce your monthly outgoings by spreading repayments out over a longer period than your original debts – but be aware that this could also mean paying interest for longer, and therefore paying more than if you had chosen a shorter repayment period.

However, you could still save money on interest overall if the APR on your original debt is higher than that on your debt consolidation loan. And even if you don’t save money, some people are happy to pay a little more overall if it means lower and more manageable monthly payments.

Before you take out a debt consolidation loan, you should be sure that you will be able to continue making the payments for the duration of the agreement. It is still a form of debt, and failing to make payments carries the same consequences as with any other debts. You should also be sure you will not be tempted to spend the money you have repaid towards your debts (e.g. on a credit card balance), since this will result in even more debt to pay back.

Debt management plan
A debt management plan is an agreement between you and your creditors for lower monthly payments, based on how much you can afford each month.

While you can arrange a debt management plan by yourself, this requires a lot of negotiation with your creditors. For this reason, some people prefer the convenience of a professional debt management company, who can negotiate with creditors on your behalf.

As well as negotiating for lower monthly payments, it may also be possible to get a freeze on interest and other charges, which can stop your debt from growing.

IVA (Individual Voluntary Arrangement)
An IVA is an alternative to bankruptcy in which you agree to repay a set percentage of your debts to your lenders, based on how much you can afford on a monthly basis, and the remaining debt is written off. It is typically only used for more serious levels of debt.

You will work with an Insolvency Practitioner to put together an IVA proposal, which will then be sent to your creditors. This must be approved by creditors accounting for 75% of your total debt for the IVA to go ahead.

If the proposal is approved, you will begin making regular monthly payments to your Insolvency Practitioner, who will divide the money amongst your creditors. On successful completion of the IVA (usually after five years), your remaining debt will be written off.

If you do decide on an IVA, be aware that if you are a homeowner you may have to release some of the equity in your home in the 54th month (half way through the final year), and you may also be required to contribute the majority of any rise in income while the IVA is in place.

I Have Been Looking For The Best Travel Deals Online

Blog | Posted by Burt
May 25 2009

I’ve been doing quite a bit of research into the world of travel websites and how best to save money on vacation travel. Of particular interest is trying to find the best hotel deals online.

Of course travel is a huge category at search engines like Google and Live Search, and there are tons of websites that offer to help us find the best pricing. Some are well known because of all their advertising on TV and elsewhere. But there are lots of websites that I had never heard of, all of them wanting to set me up with hotel reservations or other services.

I have come to the opinion that there is no magic source for travel deals, but there are numerous great sources that will help us get the best possible pricing assuming your brother-in-law isn’t the CEO of say Starwood Hotels.

One option is to use a website that runs your search on several other travel sites and airline sites; they basically organize the search for you. That’s helpful to a point, but since major websites like Travelocity offer a low-price guarantee, you’re not likely to see big differences in price most of the time, even when checking a lot of other competing sites.

Some of the websites will monitor prices for you over time, to grab any great travel deals or airfare discounts that come along. That works OK if you start early enough in advance of your trip to let them watch for you. And, of course, you can look for last-minute deals at nearly all the major websites; they usually have a page or more just for such specials. That option requires that you have quite a bit of flexibility in your travel plans.

It might be best to find a major travel site that offers all the important search options, last-minute deals, price guarantee, etc., and also has a well-established track record of top-notch customer service. A great deal on a hotel room doesn’t mean much if the reservation is lost or the hotel doesn’t know anything about the special price you found online. So my inclination is to stay away from the secondary travel sites for the most part.

Parvo Treatment – How Much Do You Know?

Blog | Posted by Burt
May 25 2009

Spring is already upon us, which means that the Parvo season has begun, and there is an infinitely more aggressive strain of Parvo that is killing dogs at a scary rate. The 2c Strain can kill both fully-vaccinated adult dogs and puppies within 6-12 hours after symptoms first appear.

So, we put together a little quiz for you to see whether you’re up-to-date. These are True/False questions:

  1. Parvo is a puppy disease and my adult dogs are safe.
  2. All of my dogs are up-to-date on their shots, therefore they are protected.
  3. I’m worried that my cat can get infected from my Parvo puppy, should I be?
  4. Foul-smelling dog diarrhea mainly comes from eating junk food.
  5. Canine Parvovirus is not contagious to humans.
  6. My vet quoted $750+ for Parvo treatments for my dog, I heard this is low?
  7. Parvo cannot survive snow and desert-heat temperatures.
  8. Parvo can only be spread via infected dog feces.
  9. Parvo can incubate from 3-15 days before symptoms appear.
  10. Parvo tests at the vet are always accurate.

Parvo is widely misunderstood. One thing is for sure, it will attack your pet and can take his life if you don’t take immediate action. So often, people are caught unawares and simply do not know what to look for. Parvo symptoms can appear from absolutely nowhere – one minute your dog is playing and the next minute he is lying around, not eating, no energy – basically, not the dog you know and love.

The typical symptoms of Parvo can mislead you at first. You may assume your dog has simply eaten something that didn’t agree with him, when indeed he may already be infected and very ill with the scourge of the Earth, Canine Parvo virus.

This is why we wrote Parvo Treatment 101, a FREE eBook that contains a wealth of information to help you learn all you need to know about Parvo and what are the dog Parvo symptoms to look out for. We also talk about exactly what makes for an effective Parvo treatment. Without a doubt, you will run across many treatments for Parvo, and we can help you understand their pros and cons, as we’ve done tons of research into this issue.

We hope you found this information interesting and once you download and read your free copy of our eBook, that should clear up many issues about Parvo.

Oh BTW, how did you do on our little Parvo Quiz? Ideally, you don’t want to miss more than 1 … Well, we can help you out. If you pay a visit to our Parvo Emergency Treatment Blog you will find all of the answers to this quiz and possibly other issues you may have on your mind.

With many companies expanding operations to Asian countries, international travel has increased dramatically. Even with the present global financial problems, corporate travel is still at a high level. But recently organizations are finding methods to reduce the cost of overseas travel. One of the methods of lowering traveling cost is by getting multi trip travel insurance.

multi trip insurance is not exclusively for corporate jet setters but also for individuals who travel constantly. If you are an avid traveler who travels a minimum of 3 weeks in a year than you should purchase multi trip insurance. It can save you money as well as time since you do not have to buy a new insurance policy every time you need to travel.

multi trip travel insurance is designed to give you peace of mind when you travel whether it is domestically or to foreign lands. You can leave home with a sense of assurance with the confidence that you are covered for any mishaps or unforeseen incidents that may happen. The cover is continuous, meaning once it is in affect travelers can be assured that it will last the whole year regardless of where they go or how often.

multitrip travel insurance can be tailored exclusively for your needs. Generally speaking, it would more often than not cover travel delays, travel cancellations, medical emergencies, loss or damage to personal effects and more. Normally, policies are set up on a yearly term and will then cover you for an indefinite number of trips over that time for up to 90 days of travel. Thus, if an unexpected trip comes up during the year you will be covered without any additional hassle. Many insurance agencies also allow multi trip insurance to be combined with family policies, so that family members who also travel regularly are also taken care off.

Did it ever happen to you that you were in a public place and you got a call that not only you but several other people reach for there mobile phone because they have the same ringtone? This is very annoying and I think you should try everything to not let this happen again, dare to be different and get a customised ringtone.

As everybody knows new ringtones are not cheap but if you look for the right websites you can find mobile content that is also available for your budget. Make sure that you download the newest ringtones on your mobile phone.

More mature people just have a simple ringtone just to know when they receive a call or message. For younger people it much more than just a sound, it’s letting others know what kind of music you like, witch band or artist and especially witch hit of the moment. If your phone has the coolest realtones you are the man, every teenager likes cool ringtones nowadays. Just give it a try and you will see how people will react when they hear your ringtone.

There are a lot of websites where you can listen to a preview before ordering the funniest truetones, in this way you make sure that you are not spending a lot of money on something that is not what you actually want. Make sure you update them frequently because other people will do the same as you so you will not be unique anymore.

Customising your ringtones on your mobile phone is cool and hopefully you will be the only one that reaches for his phone the next time you are in a public place.

I love kitchen islands, why don’t I have one?

Blog | Posted by Burt
May 25 2009

As far as kitchen development is concerned I think the kitchen island is just as important as sliced bread. This brilliant concept has been around for a while, but its really taking on a new spin with all the things you can put into your island today. It used to be you only had a little storage and a counter top, now you can run the entire kitchen from just the island area.

It’s pretty easy to have a discussion about kitchen island lighting. Many islands are setup for extra eating spaces, with fancy bar stools for seating, a buffet area of sorts where a variety of yummy dishes can be placed. But today’s islands also offer the chef a wide range of options depending on their own cooking habits. My mother has her cooktop range on the island, along with a microwave, a a built in curio cabinet for displaying her favorite collectibles. Other islands I’ve seen have the dishwasher built in, and even appliances like ice makers, trash compactors and small refrigerators. Yes, if you wanted your oven there you could. There’s really no limit to the way you can design your island to meet your needs.

I take that back. The biggest limitation is the size of your kitchen. Some are so small there’s no way a permanent fixture would work, you wouldn’t be able to get around it. To that end you would want to consider a kitchen island cart. Something that’s flexible, movable, something that can be stored out of the way when not in use.

Unfortunately my kitchen is too small to have an island of any great use, but my next home I intend to make sure the kitchen is big enough for one. I think they’re fantastic.
